Plantation Golf Outing - Dec 29, 2014
On a clear, brisk (some would say frigid!) winter morning, seven intrepid souls braved the elements for a round of fellowship and an attempt at golf at the Plantation Golf Course in Frisco. One girly man backed out of the outing at the 11th hour claiming unfavorable conditions. He missed out on some chuckles and a good time. As you know from the previous post, Plantation is the home of one of the Captain's most memorable misfortunes.....Mr. Rude was channelling his "inner captain" and almost replicated the dive into the drink on hole 15. Only his "cat like" reflexes saved him from a chilly swim. He did soil his new trousers.....
Water was the theme of the day. Mr. Rucker, Mr Yarbrough and Mr. Smits were involved in a competitive game of animals in the other threesome .....(because our 4th took up on girly!). Kevin showed his zoo keeping skills on hole 13 with a well executed 9 iron off the bank and into the pond. He was able to rescue the ball and put it back into play. I say that when a ball goes bad and decides to become a submarine, the best thing to do is to "let it go....". Kevin put the evil sphere back into play and it promptly leapt off the pitching wedge back into the bank and back into the pond.....twice....the good news is that Kevin couldn't rescue Mr. Whitey when he went swiming for the final time on number 15!
Kevin had so many frogs in his cart that he looked "swampy" after that hole.
Paging Mr. Etter....paging Mr. Etter... the long range forecast calls for highs in the mid 70's on May 16 - can we count on you to fill a foursome????
I plan to try to keep up with the blog in 2015....I hope we can all have some fun with it....
