Dateline: Jan 3, 2015 Texas Star Golf Course
After two solid days of rain, the clouds parted to allow a little golf. The course was in outstanding shape! Texas Star has new greens and new sand traps. I can attest that the traps are outstanding. I think I spent a little time in almost every one of them!
It was a little chilly on number one but by the second nine, we were taking off layers.
Here are some pictures on hole 1:
I especially like the expression on Wayno - apparently, he is still channelling his inner "Blunder" - the missing reindeer!
Yes, that is Mr. Randy Glavan in group 1 - we were out numbered by Longhorns today! And, team Randy and Curt won 1st prize for the day - they got out of the gates fast with a couple of birdies in the first 6 holes. On number 7, Randy went to the dark side and they limped in for the win. We had a historic 4 place tie for 2nd - I don't think I've ever seen that happen before.
Take a close look at the person on the right in picture 2 - Yes, it is Mr. Etter! Here's a picture of him about 3 minutes earlier:
Mr. Rude is keeping a couple of streaks alive ....
- He finished in the money again.....he is really becoming "mechanical" about winning!
- He gets to add an "oak leaf cluster" to the red ass - on 13 the club went for a ride after 7 strokes from right next to the green (for you guys not in the military, when you win a medal a second time, you add a small oak leaf cluster on the ribbon so every knows you've won it more than once)
- He soiled his trousers again this week - this time because Kent surprised him by driving through a tunnel the wrong way and almost crashing into his cart head on. There were no mentions on whether or not he yelled "oy!" because all you could hear were the brakes and the cart skidding sideways.
I'm looking forward to the next outing....

1 Comments:
No "Oy!" As best I recall. I did my best nascar-evasive maneuver by a slight turn to the right and locking up the brakes. Coming around the bend, I was reading the sign that said " watch out for oncoming carts", and as I looked up here comes Kent in the one lane tunnel. We stopped a mere two inches from the cement tunnel. Just to reiterate, I veered right exposing myself and not my cart partner! Fun day and great report Smitty!
